« Deform » : What if objects came to life ?

Experimental project with 3D modeling and printing

In a visual space saturated with sanitised shapes, these little bricks experiment with the viewer's reaction by offering something repulsive, amusing and endearing all at once. To distort is to alter a standardised form in order to give it another, stranger and often less desirable one. Through the prism of memory and imagination, an object can be reinterpreted and taken out of its original function. The brick can thus acquire an individuality as soon as it is personified, given a face, emotions and a will of its own: an idea that is both intriguing and unsettling.
